Samuel Domingo

One difference I noticed in both films was that, in the more "recent" version of Macbeth, Macbeth acted on his own actions without regret or fear. In the "older" version Macbeth showed regret after killing his victims and that Lady Macbeth was one calling all the shots. Also, in the "recent" version, Macbeth was shown dead next to his wife instead of dying on the battlefield against Macduff. A similarity shown in both films was that Macbeth was still told of his faith to rule and what to watch out for. In the end, I personally liked the "recent" version more because it was easier to relate to and understand because it took place in the present time.

  1. Good point on the difference in Macbeth's attitude after committing the murders in the new version of the film and Lady Macbeth. I didnt realize that until now. But I do disagree on the movie choice, I thought the older version was better.

  2. I agree with priscilla good point on the difference in Macbeth's attitude. I agree the modern version was better but only in some ways. It had more action and I really like that in movies but the older version is straight to the point, and by point I mean read/acted line by line.
    But good job.

  3. I also noticed the difference stated by Sam, in the scene in the recent version where Macbeth got up and started walking and later on was shown to be dead beside his wife. I agree with Sam's point that the recent version was easier to understand and relate because it was set in a more modern time.
