One similarity between both of the plays is the plot. In one of the scenes Macbeth was trying to become king in the old version of the film. In that same film he did become king, but the way he became king is that he had to kill people in order to get that respect. On the other hand, in the modern film Macbeth was trying to be the main head in his gang.He also had to murder to get that respect. But afterwards at the end Macbeth dies so all the respect he got it faded away because after he died almost everyone else died and no one was really left to admire what he did in life in both films.

  1. Good point, Marycruz. The themes of Macbeth are as applicable today as they were in the past: greed corrupts and you reap what you sow. It is somewhat tragic that Macbeth dies in the end with, as you say, no one left to admire him and his deeds. Do you sympathize with Macbeth at all, or do you feel he got what he deserved?

  2. I agree with you, after Macbeth died there was nobody left to admire him. When people do bad things when they are alive they have sad endings like Macbeth.
