Josue Torrez

Personally, i liked the film version of Macbeth better. The use of scenery and interesting camera angles and a very talented cast kept me interested. Whereas the play version was very dull and it was very difficult to pay attention to. One might say that the play version was better because it stays true to Shakespeare's version, but the changes to the film version keep it more modern and exciting.

One similarity was the dialogue between the characters. They were both quite similar to each other. The actors all had accents which made it a little bit harder to understand, but it wasn't a nuisance. A difference between the 2 was that the play version had very ugly actors, but they played their parts well. The film version on the other hand was filled with attractive actors and actresses, especially Lady Macbeth. It was an all-around enjoyable experience, but it could have been better if we had been able to see the violence

  1. Good point about the accents. That is indeed a similarity shared by the two versions that wasn't mentioned in class.

  2. I disagree, I liked better the play version. It keeps in reality that not all actors need to be attractive to act and represents real characteristics of people and life events. Although, I agree all acted very well to their parts. It was fun for me to imagine the scenery and props. I was able to make the play become a movie I would want watch. Nice similarity on the accents.
